What's Up with GG?                                 January 16, 2012

Happy New Year!  Thank you to everyone who supported me and my family by purchasing my work.  I cannot express to you enough how important you are to us.  May God bless the work of your hands and give you wisdom and peace.

GG is working on...

...well, it's tax season of course, so right now....taxes :P  but we all have to do it so no complaints.  I was actually ready to get started on them first part of January but you need all of those forms and waiting for them...well, I spent most of today working on that just to find I am still missing one form, so no resolution today.

GOOD NEWS:  I managed after many many many phone calls and web inquiries, chats, etc., to get a little more information on the format change that is in store for the website.  I am far more comfortable with all of this now, so I resumed posting the Good News two weeks ago.

In the meantime...

I will be out of town from January 19th through the 22nd.  I will not likely have access to email so I will not be able to answer any questions that you might have during that weekend, but will get to them promptly upon my return.  The shop will remain open but there will be no shipping until the middle of next week or so.

If you see anything that you have questions about in the catalog, please just ask me.  If I don't have the answer immediately about non-product related questions, I will get one for you from someone more qualified.  I do not collect email addresses so no need to worry about spam just because you had a question.

Also,  if you saw a section at the Etsy shop the last time you shopped and it is not there when you return, it is just because there is nothing in that section for immediate sale at the moment or it has been combined.   Just come on back to the catalog to review what we have to offer and to place an order.  I can help you find what you were looking for.

Furthermore...

You are encouraged to share the Good News that you find here.  If it was helpful to you, it may be helpful to someone else.  We have a duty to spread the Gospel:  2Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;  3Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.  1 Peter 5:2-3   Note this is not done by force, not under threat of beheading, not by imposed baptism, not for monetary gain or fame, not even for your country, but because of that one person who might just be ready to receive salvation.  Do not be afraid to speak;  if someone doesn't want to hear it they don't have to listen...move on!

Today and for the rest of the week...

....eyelet pillow dress and purity bonnet for a new little lady, then packing for the weekend to visit the college my daughter will be attending in the fall.

Announcements

I am pleased to announce a collaboration with artist Amy Barranco on HEIRLOOM QUILTS.   Amy's vision of simplicity and comfort has meshed nicely with my effort to stay focused on practical products.   Her work not only has a clean vintage feel which brings us back to our most pleasant childhood memories, but also preserves the best of the current generation.  Her mind is occupied with the comfort and success of children and this spills over into this art from her work as an effective teacher and tutor in the State of California where she lives with her two young children.

Etsy makers of children's items, along with the larger handmade movement, succeeded in getting the ear of Washington politicians and agencies by calling out for the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) to be amended. (Click Title to read more.)
