| Instruction sheets for using the adjustable carrier in all its versatility! *** WARNING: You must be sure to see your baby's face and check breathing and circulation. DO NOT WEAR YOUR BABY! You must take meticulous care to see to your baby's health *** See statement from Consumer Product Safety Commission. Let’s get started on using the wrap for the right shoulder.
Figure 1: Hold the rings in your right hand as pictured, with the shoulder cap in front. Grasp the seam that is in the back with your left hand as shown.
Figure 2: Bring the wrap behind you just as if you were putting on a shawl or a blanket around your shoulders.
Figure 3: Now you are holding the upper seam close to your neck and the shoulder cap should be over your right shoulder.
Figure 4: (please note that my shoulder cap is not down, it is folded up on the right edge. You may straighten that on yourself.) Now let go of the rings and with your right hand follow the upper seam to keep the wrap straight across your back.
Figure 5: Trace the seam all the way to the end, and then carefully walk the edges together like an accordion, taking care not to twist the fabric. Figure 6: Without twisting the fabric, place the accordion edge through both rings from the bottom. Figure 7: Making sure that you don't twist the fabric, pull the fabric a bit of a way through both loops. See the cradle?
Figure 8: Separate the rings and WITHOUT TWISTING THE FABRIC, pull that accordion edge over (around) the upper ring and back down through the lower ring. Pull to tighten.
Here is where you will make your big adjustments depending on how you plan on holding your child.
Figure 9: Pulling the seam on the length of fabric on the left (toward the cradle) will tighten the upper (outer) seam.
Figure 10: Pulling on the right side of the length of fabric will tighten the inside (lower) seam.
Figure 11: Pulling on the middle of the fabric will adjust the DEPTH of the pouch. Figure 12: I am putting my child in a sitting up position, so I have loosened the lower (inside) seam and tightened the upper (outside) seam. I use my left arm to place my child, and my right arm to hold open the cradle.
Figure 13: I pull on the left side of the length of fabric and a little on the middle to pull her back and seat in close to my hip.
Notice again, that I failed to put the shoulder cap down. It is the dark green edge on the right side of my right shoulder. That can just be folded down over the shoulder.
NOTE! Be certain that the baby's chin is not pressing down on her chest and that the baby is not too deep in the sling. Be certain that baby's nose is not pressed against Mom or Dad or the side of the sling.
Figure 17: I let my older child out from the bottom, by lifting the lower (inside) seam up over her head. Then she runs away! OR Figure 18: Remove the entire sling with baby still in it and allow him to continue sleeping IN A CONSPICUOUS AREA without being jostled awake. Remove the carrier by gently pulling it out from under the baby. Now to put the sling back on without rethreading:
Figure 19: Hold the shoulder cap in your right hand, with the rings and the length of fabric facing away from you. You will see the inside seams facing YOU, and the double row of outer seams from under the shoulder cap, facing away from you. Hold the entire sling so that no part of the loop is twisted. It should make a nice flat “O.”
Figure 20: Put your left arm through the circle of fabric and pull it over your head. Place the rings in front of your right shoulder.
Figure 21: Ready to go. Notice this time I pulled the shoulder flap down. Follow the seam close to your neck with your finger all the way around to the front to make sure that the upper (outer) seam is the one on top and it is not twisted around your back. Then follow the lower seam under the shoulder cap around to the lower front. Please see the sheet for a newborn baby to learn to adjust the depth. That should about do it. Practice in front of a mirror, or with a doll or with help if you are not certain. You are going to be an expert in no time at all. The only important thing that you must remember is not to twist the fabric. That’s it! If you find it is starting to twist, just take everything out of the rings and rethread. I have to do that once in awhile myself. Don’t worry and if you have any questions, please contact me. Return to Top Browse Carriers Shop | |
