Adjust the Sling Baby Carrier for a Small Baby

These instructions show you how the size of the cradle can be adjusted for a small baby.

THE CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION ADVISES THAT YOU NOT USE THE SLING BABY CARRIER FOR BABIES UNDER 4 MONTHS OLD.  STATEMENT

Figure 1: Here is my newborn baby. Isn't she precious?

Figure 2: Here you can see that the cradle is huge, because it is adjusted for a larger child. If I put the newborn baby in there, she is lost!

Figure 3: If I open the length of fabric hanging from the rings and pull it down right in the center, the cradle becomes far more shallow.

Figure 4: Here I am using my right arm to support the baby's back and head, and using my left hand to hold the cradle open. I can just place the baby in the cradle.....

Figure 5: ...and pull the cradle completely under her head. I tug I little on the right side of the fabric to pull up the outside seam making a snug and supportive cradle.

Figure 6: And this is about what it looks like to hold a tiny little newborn baby close in the carrier.  ALWAYS WATCH FOR YOUR CHILD'S BREATHING AND CHECK THAT THE CARRIER IS IN GOOD CONDITION.

If you plan on nursing, you can loosen (lower) the inside, tighten up in the middle and the outside, place the extension of fabric over the child and no one knows you’re nursing.
